Theatricality

Okay, so my latest interests in music has been Eurodance, Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert. If you are like many of the self-respecting music lovers out there, you would have probably groaned at the thought of the first two, and if you lived under a rock you probably went 'Adam Who?". If Sigmund Freud were to analyse my choices, he would probably say that my choices of overly sexual and theatrical musicians belied a subconscious need to express my needs and desires etc and something about not getting sex as a kid. I say, better them than Justin Bieber.

Yuck.

Lady Gaga, I feel is a breath of fresh air. Quirkily original, though some people may call it insanity or 'gaga'...get it?...whatever, her creativity shines through from her music style (listed as techno pop..wtf?) to her clothes, hairstlyes and definitely her raunchy lyrics and music videos. She's no beauty, anyone who's seen her can tell you that, but 'Frankly, my dear, I don't think she gives a damn'. If you look at how she got where she is today however, things start to make sense. She was a normal child to two normal parents and she went to a Catholic school. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is , i think, when sanity fled. After years of being repressed, she went on to music school. Yes, she actually studied music and she tried to break in to the industry. Of course, then she was called Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta which means, in other words, not getting anywhere. Something snapped somewhere and she began performing cabaret acts under the stage name Lady Gaga with her partner ( music partner, nothing else) Lady Starbright. She was also working as a songwriter before AKON 'recognised' her talent and signed her on to his Kon Live Records. The rest, is history.

Now, on to Adam Lambert. The oh-so-sexy star shot to fame when he won runner up in the American Idol competition, season something..I'm not sure, google it. AND, he was the first contestant to be be openly gay. Why are all the good men gone?? Moving on, I LOVE the way he uses eyeliner. Or guyliner as he calls it. I think, all guys should use guyliner regardless of sexual orientation. It's hot. I mean, look at Johnny Depp, it definitely works for him. The male population already moisturise and use shampoo specially for men, guyliner is the next step on the inevitable journey of male grooming.

Eurodance, no matter what you say, is always good when you just want to dance. So stop complaining about it. If you want quality music, go listen to Rachmaninov or something. My favourite right now is Bass Hunter,( I was never known for good taste and people close to me will vouch for that) and can Cascada be classified as Eurodance? Anyway, have a listen and don't be uptight because 'In the long run, we are all dead".
